Speech Language Pathology Graduate Student
RUSH University
La Grange, Illinois, United States
My name is Maggie Devitt, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Science degree at RUSH University. I am deeply committed to learning and improving the lives of those I work with. There I am both a Graduate Assistant for one of my professors, as well as a Teaching Assistant, and will begin as a Research Assistant this fall. My journey began at Saint Mary's College, where I graduated as Valedictorian with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology, where I also participated in research and fellowships for my professors.
My clinical experiences have been incredibly rewarding during my time at RUSH. It has consisted of Early Intervention with Courtney Chapman LTD as well as working on the Acute rotation at the Rush University Medical Center allowed me to develop skills in diagnosing and treating adult patients' communication and cognitive challenges. This is where encountered a patient that lead me to present on the case, and lead me to submit a poster presentation for ISHA! Looking ahead, I'm excited to continue learning and growing, with an upcoming outpatient pediatrics placement at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab. My journey has been shaped by a genuine passion for helping others communicate effectively, and I'm eager to contribute more in the future.
