Ciera M. Lorio, Ph.D., CCC-SLP is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Illinois State University (ISU). Prior to completing her doctorate, Dr. Lorio worked as a school-based speech-language pathologist, serving children in preschool through 5th grade. She frequently uses her clinical experiences to inform her research and teaching practices at ISU. Dr. Lorio’s research focuses on the use of coaching and caregiver-implemented interventions to support language and literacy development in infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with or at risk for language disorders. She teaches a variety of language courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including courses on language development, language analysis, language disorders, and language/literacy interventions.
